The Federation of Black Canadians (FBC) Receives Funding From The Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP) Ecosystem Fund

April 6, 2023

We are excited to announce that FedDev Canada Southern Ontario is investing over $1.3 million to support the next generation of Black entrepreneurs. This investment allows the Federation of Black Canadians (FBC) to provide resources and opportunities to help Black-owned businesses succeed and thrive in the Canadian economy.

The Federation of Black Canadians is a national organization that represents the interests of Black Canadians and works towards creating a more equitable and inclusive society. Through this investment, over 170 young Black entrepreneurs in multiple regions across Canada will have access to the tools and resources they need to succeed and thrive in their respective industries.

“I have always been passionate about supporting and empowering Black youth and I am thrilled that this fund enables us to provide mentorship programs, and training sessions for young Black entrepreneurs across Canada. Our goal is to provide these young entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed and equip them with the skills needed to navigate any challenges they may face. We are grateful for the Government of Canada’s recognition of the importance of supporting Black entrepreneurship and look forward to working with these talented and driven individuals to help them achieve their goals.”

Chris Thompson, Executive Director FBC

Whether you are just starting out or looking to grow your existing business, the Federation of Black Canadians can help connect you with the resources and mentorship you need to succeed. We encourage young Black entrepreneurs and business owners to take advantage of this opportunity as this could be the support you need to take your business to the next level.

Together, we can build a more equitable and inclusive economy that benefits all Canadians.
