About the Youth Employment Skills Program
Our mission is to empower Black youth (any racialized youth as well), newcomers, youth with disabilities, and NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training) by providing essential skills training, access to quality employment opportunities, and personalized support. We aim to break down barriers and create pathways to success for marginalized communities across Canada.
How it Works:
- 9 weeks paid comprehensive training program to prepare to participate in the workforce
- 6 week quality employment opportunity
- Opportunities for mentorship and support
- 30 hours/week

We welcome Strive Opp as our first community employment training partner. Their innovative platform combines cutting-edge technology, skill-based programs, and a supportive community and will help you achieve your career goals.

- Guidance for securing admissions to ideal institutions
If you’re having trouble finding your feet and starting your career/education this program is for you. We welcome all racialized youth, newcomers, youth with disabilities and NEET Youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training).
Why Apply?
- Skill Development: Enhance your employability with in-depth skills training.
- Real Work Experience: Gain hands-on experience with quality employment opportunities.
- Individualized Support: Receive personalized coaching, case management, and access to mental health support, transportation, and more.
- Paid Opportunity: Earn while you learn! Participants will be paid throughout the entire duration of the program.
- Time Commitment: 30 hours per week for the full 9-week training and 6-week employment opportunity.

Youth Seeking Employment
Are you Black Canadian (aged 15-29), Newcomer, and looking to land a job that you’re just not quite qualified for yet? Register here to get access to a 15 week program that will get you the job training and experience you need.
Employment Training Partner
Are you currently running employment training programs in any field? Trades, STEM, marketing etc? We are looking to partner with a wide range of training programs to help create a diverse workforce of Black Canadians. Get funding to help to support their training.
Employer Partner
Are you currently looking to increase your capacity with some extra support? Get funding for 6 weeks to hire a skilled up Black Canadian or newcomer. There is potential for a 15 week funding period if job training is provide with the hire.

Who is eligible to apply for the program?
Our program is open to Black youth, newcomers, youth with disabilities, and NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training) as well as other marginalized groups, aged 15-30, who are facing barriers to employment. The program is available in several cities, including Brampton, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver. With our first cohort available across Canada in a virtual format.
