The Federation of Black Canadians (FBC) is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the prestigious Black Leadership Breakfast Awards taking place at the beginning of Black History Month. This annual celebration shines a spotlight on outstanding leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates within the Black community in the Greater Toronto Area, recognizing those who are driving meaningful change and inspiring others.

Awards Open for Nominations:
1. Community Leadership Award
This award recognizes a community-based leader, advocate, or volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional civic leadership and community service outside of a formal business context. Nominees should exemplify FBC’s mission and values and show unwavering commitment to projects that address the needs of the Black community. Special consideration is given to initiatives focused on Black youth employment, workforce development, and economic empowerment, as well as those who inspire others to take on leadership roles.

2. Youth Leadership Award
Honouring emerging leaders between the ages of 18–29, this award celebrates young individuals who demonstrate outstanding civic leadership and dedication to the success of projects within the Black community. Exceptional candidates will also have motivated other youth to take on leadership roles, fostering lasting, community-driven change.

3. Leadership in Business Award
This award recognizes a Black-owned business, entrepreneur, or business leader whose work has created measurable economic and social impact for the Black community. Nominees should showcase innovative approaches to business while maintaining a strong commitment to community involvement and investment in Black initiatives.

4. Excellence in Employer Partnership Award
Celebrating employers or businesses that have partnered with nonprofits, schools, or community programs to create meaningful pathways for Black or marginalized groups through internships, apprenticeships, or first-job opportunities.
