Welcome to our monthly grant list for Black-led/B3 nonprofits and charities. Whether you’re launching a new initiative, expanding your impact, or strengthening your organization’s capacity, here are the July 2026 grant opportunities currently accepting applications.

Events and Youth Initiative — Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF)

What’s offered:
Funding to support events and youth-led initiatives that promote anti-racism, inclusion, public education, and community engagement. The program helps organizations deliver activities that foster dialogue, raise awareness, and advance racial equity across Canada.

Who’s eligible:
Registered charities, non-profit organizations, Indigenous organizations, municipalities, educational institutions, and other eligible community organizations planning to host events or youth initiatives aligned with the National Anti-Racism Fund (NARF).

Funding range:
Up to $10,000

New Horizons for Seniors Program — Employment and Social Development Canada

What’s offered:
Funding for projects that improve the quality of life for seniors by promoting social inclusion, volunteerism, mentorship, accessibility, and community participation.

Who’s eligible:
Non-profits, registered charities, municipalities, Indigenous organizations, and other community-based organizations serving seniors across Canada.

 Funding range:

  • Community-based projects: Up to $50,000
  • Larger, multi-year projects: Funding varies and may exceed $100,000

2026 Community Grant Program — OpenRoad Foundation

What’s offered:
Grants that support charitable programs focused on community well-being, youth and education, and environmental sustainability in communities across British Columbia and Ontario.

Who’s eligible:
Registered Canadian charities delivering programs that align with the Foundation’s funding priorities in the Greater Vancouver and Greater Toronto regions.

 Funding range:
Typically $10,000–$30,000

Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) – Large Stream — Government of Alberta

What’s offered:
Capital funding to build, renovate, expand, or upgrade community-use facilities that enhance community services and improve access to recreation, culture, and social programming.

Who’s eligible:
Alberta-based non-profit organizations, municipalities, Métis Settlements, and Indigenous communities.

Funding range:
$100,000–$1 million

TELUS Friendly Future Foundation Community Board grants

What is offered

Single-year community grants that support grassroots programs helping youth reach their full potential. The Community Boards invest in local health and education initiatives, with priority given to projects that leverage technology to increase access, improve outcomes, or strengthen community impact. 

Who is eligible 

  • Canadian registered charities and other qualified donees
  • Organizations delivering community-based health or education programs for youth
  • Projects serving communities within participating regions, including the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, Barrie, and Central Ontario
  • Organizations able to demonstrate measurable community impact through local programming

Funding range –

$10,000–$20,000 (single-year grants)

Lululemon’s Community Wellbeing Grant

What’s offered:

Funding for community-led organizations improving wellbeing by increasing equitable access to movement. The grant supports innovative programs that address physical inactivity, loneliness, mental health, and social connection, particularly for communities facing systemic barriers 

Who’s eligible:

  • Registered charities, nonprofits, or organizations with a qualified fiscal sponsor
  • Community-led organizations advancing wellbeing through movement-based programming
  • Organizations serving communities experiencing barriers to wellbeing
  • Applicants operating in eligible countries, including Canada
  • Priority is given to organizations with annual operating budgets under $3 million USD

Funding range 

$50,000 USD, which should not exceed 40% of their most recently completed fiscal year’s operating budget

Toronto Pearson Uplift Fund

What’s offered:
Funding for employment-focused initiatives that help job seekers overcome barriers, connect with employers, and access meaningful career pathways.

Who’s eligible:

  • Nonprofits, academic institutions, and professional associations
  • Programs benefiting residents of Brampton, Mississauga, or Etobicoke
  • Projects must run no longer than one year

Community Development Grants — Jumpstart (Canadian Tire)

What’s offered:

Who’s eligible:

Community Grant Program — NBA Foundation

What’s offered:
Funding to support organizations that create employment, career advancement, and economic opportunity pathways for Black youth (ages 14–24) in the United States and Canada. Grants prioritize programs focused on job readiness, skills training, mentorship, paid internships, and workforce placement that lead to sustainable income and long-term career success.

Who’s eligible:
U.S.-based and Canadian registered non-profit organizations and charitable entities that directly serve Black youth and can demonstrate measurable employment and economic outcomes.

Funding range:
Grant amounts vary by project scope and impact. The NBA Foundation has awarded multi-year grants ranging from $50,000 to $500,000+ depending on organizational capacity and scale.

Status / Deadline:
The NBA Foundation operates with periodic funding cycles throughout the year. Organizations must submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) before being invited to apply. Check the website for current deadlines.

Professional Development Assistance — SOCAN Foundation

What’s offered:
Financial assistance to support the professional development of Canadian music creators and publishers. Funding can be used for career-advancing opportunities such as workshops, mentorships, showcases, conferences, travel for industry events, and skill-building initiatives that strengthen long-term sustainability in the music sector.

Who’s eligible:
Canadian songwriters, composers, and music publishers who are SOCAN members in good standing. Applicants must demonstrate professional activity and a clear development plan aligned with career growth.

Funding range:
Grants typically provide up to $2,000 per application, depending on the activity and available funding.

 Community Grant Program — Community Initiatives Fund Saskatchewan (CIF)

What’s offered:
The CIF Community Grant Program provides funding support to a wide range of programs and services under three funding themes:

Healthy Growth and Development of Children and Youth: supporting childhood development programs and services that provide young children with a good start in life and prepare youth for the future. Particularly programs and services that reduce barriers and enhance accessibility for young people.

Individual and Community Wellbeing: supporting programs for all ages that support healthy lifestyles, supportive and inclusive communities, and provide access to programs and services.

Nonprofit and Community Leadership: supporting initiatives that strengthen the knowledge and skills of nonprofit board members to effectively govern; nonprofit program delivery staff have knowledge & skills that benefit the participants of the nonprofit’s program and services; and volunteers to become community leaders and support nonprofit program delivery, enhancing the ability of nonprofits to achieve their mission and have a positive impact on community.
