2025 Theme: Tackling Youth Unemployment Together
Building Pathways for Black Youth Through Collective Action
Youth unemployment continues to be one of the most pressing challenges facing Black communities across Canada. Systemic barriers—limited access to networks, mentorship, and equitable employment opportunities—have left too many young people underemployed or excluded from meaningful career pathways.
This year’s Black Leadership Breakfast focuses on Youth Unemployment as a call to action. Help us Kick off this Black History Month with change!
Through honest dialogue, shared solutions, and cross-sector collaboration, this gathering will bring together community leaders, nonprofits, employers, policymakers, and youth advocates to explore how we can work collectively to create sustainable employment pathways for Black youth.
What We’ll Explore
-
The current landscape of youth unemployment in Black communities
-
The role of nonprofits, employers, and community organizations in reducing employment barriers
-
Innovative programs and partnerships supporting skills development and workforce readiness
-
How collective action can drive long-term, community-led solutions
This breakfast is more than a conversation—it is a commitment to action, accountability, and impact. Together, we can move beyond awareness and toward solutions that empower the next generation of Black leaders.
