On October 26th at 5PM PST/ 8PM EST, FBC will be hosting our quarterly National Partner’s meeting. We are inviting Black-led and B3-serving organizations across Canada to join us for a virtual community conversation that will focus on measures for Black communities across Canada in response to the social, economic and cultural interests of Black Canadians.
We encourage our members and non-members to participate. If you are an individual within a group not yet registered and you are supporting our fellow brothers and sisters, we would like to hear from you

These women have not only excelled in their careers but have also actively worked to uplift and empower those around them. We are eager to hear about their transformative work, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the insights they have gathered along their inspiring journeys.
Their presence serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the remarkable contributions that individuals from the Black community continue to make in various sectors. Their stories are sure to inspire and encourage us all to pursue our dreams, strive for excellence, and make a positive impact in our communities.

National Partner’s Meeting Speakers
Shauna Bookal
President/CEO of Inclusion in Canadian Sports Network
Shauna graduated from Brock University (BSM ’05) and then went on to pursue post-graduate studies: first attaining a Sport Business Management Graduate Certificate from Durham College in June 2006, then moving on to complete a Master of Science and Sports Management from West Virginia University in May 2008.
Currently the Manager of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Student Experience for the Ontario University Athletics (OUA). Some of her responsibilities include: provide expertise and advice to internal and external community regarding EDI- and Safe Sport related matters and guidance, oversight, and administrative support for Institutions, Coaches, Officials, and Student-Athletes.
In August 2023, Bookal was appointed President/CEO of Inclusion in Canadian Sports Network (ICSN), formally known as The Black Canadian Coaches Association (BCCA). We believe in celebrating and empowering Black, Indigenous and People of Colour in our sport community through: celebration, advocacy through allyship, and networking.
Shauna was one of 10 Canadians selected to sit on the Federal Ministerial Advisory Committee on Sport from November 2022 to April 2023. The purpose of this Advisory Committee is to advise the Minister of Sport on a variety of sport-related topics including safe sport, governance and funding approaches. Through hard work and dedication to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Sport, especially at the amateur sport level, Shauna developed, implemented and executed the first ever Diversity in Sports Conference with a focus on amateur sport in June 2023.
In addition to her extensive portfolio, Shauna has a passion for volunteering and giving back to the community. Shauna enjoys sharing her time and expertise by sitting on large sporting event organizing committees like the Pan Am Games, Invictus Games, North American Indigenous Games and Ontario ParaSport Games.
There is an extensive list of awards to showcase Shauna’s passion for volunteer involvement in sport at International/ National / Regional / Local Events. She was named Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch 2022, 5 To Watch – Canada’s Sports Business Awards Finalists 2022 & 2023, received the prestigious honour of the Governor General Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers (February 2020), the Toronto Sport Hall of Honour – Community Sport Volunteer of the Year (December 2019). In 2019 Shauna was also recognized by the Toronto Raptors and Tangerine Bank for her role as a community sports leader who has inspired, motivated and encouraged positive change in the lives of girls throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Olaitan Onyebuoha (Ola)
Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant at 7thLIC, & Volunteer President BBPN
Olaitan is the founder of 7th Laurel Immigration, a New Brunswick-based immigration consulting firm and a trailblazing black female entrepreneur committed to improving the lives of immigrants and the black community. Olaitan is an active community leader and co-founder of the Black Business & Professional Network Inc. She has received numerous accolades including, receiving the Canada Vendor’s Community Personality Award, (2021), appointed to the Advisory Committee of the New Brunswick Women in Business, (2022), a BBPA/CASA Foundation Rise Up Winner, (2023) and Canada’s top 100 Black Women to Watch 2023. Olaitan is also a wife and mother of three.
