As we prepare for the upcoming federal election, the Federation of Black Canadians (FBC) is seeking input from Black communities across the country. We want to better understand the issues that matter most to you—from healthcare and housing to funding, immigration, justice, and beyond.
Over the last several years, we’ve seen a surge of federal programs and public conversations aimed at supporting Black Canadians—but they haven’t always translated into real change. As we enter a new election cycle, now is the time to be clear about what we want to see next.
FBC has developed a short, anonymous survey to gather your input. This is an opportunity to share what you believe the government should be paying attention to, how you feel about the elections overall, and what you hope to see in the future. We created this survey to better understand:
-
What federal issues matter most to you—from housing and immigration to small business supports and climate action
-
How you feel about the current election landscape and where you stand on voting
-
What commitments you want to see from elected leaders, especially around systemic racism, equity, and the future of the UN Decade for People of African Descent
We know this isn’t a complete list. But these are the topics that have come up again and again in community consultations, in working groups, and in the everyday conversations that shape our lives. Now, we want to hear from you directly. Whether you’re a first-time voter, a long-time advocate, or someone who has felt left out of the political process, your voice matters. This is a chance to help guide the conversation—not just for this election, but for the future of Black communities in Canada.
If you would like to participate, you can complete the survey using the link below:
Please note: No personal information will be shared publicly or with political parties. The survey is anonymous, and the data will be used to create a report that reflects the priorities of Black Canadians and supports the work of Black-led organizations moving forward.
