Shaping an Equitable Future: Join Our New Public Health Research Study

Jun 2, 2026

The Federation of Black Canadians (FBC) is running a vital new research collaboration with the Global Health and Innovation Lab at the University of Western Ontario. Together, we are conducting a study dedicated to evaluating COVID-19 policies in Ontario to ensure future public health emergency responses are deeply equitable, supportive, and tailored to the unique needs of African, Caribbean, and Black communities.

To make this project a success, we need to hear directly from you. We are inviting community members to share their lived experiences and insights in an upcoming focus group discussion.

Your Voice Matters: Participants will join a 90-minute discussion (available both virtually and in person) to help drive systemic change. As a token of appreciation for your time and expertise, all participants will receive an e-gift card honorarium.

Who Can Participate?

We are actively looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Identify as African, Caribbean, or Black

  • Currently live in Ontario, Canada

  • Are 18 years of age or older

  • Are comfortable speaking and participating in English

We strongly encourage community advocates, healthcare workers, and individuals working within the government sector to enroll and share their vital perspectives.
